Rush:

You are my favorite talk show host -because you are a true conservative, but I have a bone to pick with you!

Before I share my disagreement with you, I'd first like to point out that when OpEdNews.com (which got 10's of thousands of hits!) cited my news report as a reference (and linked to it) http://www.OpEdNews.com/articles/2/Limbaugh-Hannity-Parent-Co-by-Gustav-Wynn-110305-942.html (Page 2 of 2 of story: 2nd sentence of par. 2 near the top: "Dissenters describe how Hannity's screeners practice bias and intimidation, requiring they produce a return phone number in exchange for air time," which links to MY news report here: http://GordonWayneWatts.com/HealthCareQuestionTooHard.html mirror: http://GordonWatts.com/HealthCareQuestionTooHard.html ), I took great pains to ensure I was clear: Neither you now Glenn Beck did what Sean Hannity did -and Mr. Hannity did it only via proxy, thru his call-screener -and then only on some of the occasions in question.See e.g., my "CAVEAT" at the bottom of 'UPDATES."

OK, now that I've shown that I'm not a "back-stabber" (I was even 'non-hateful' WRT Hannity! LOL), here is my bone of contention: (I couldn't get thru this Friday, so here's an email instead)

You say you are a conservative, alright, but you support vouchers? Vouchers offer an influx of tax dollar$ into the free market (of elementary education) and thus "distort the free market," in strong violation of 'Conservative' principles you and I share. (Even your semi-liberal friend, Sean Hannity, has opposed Gov't involvement into Higher-Ed, which is really no different in being victimized by liberals by distortion on that. For a good explanation of why Hannity is right on this one point and you are wrong, see e.g., my op-ed here:
http://GordonWatts.com/FannyDeregulation/Higher-Ed-Tuition-Costs.html or
http://GordonWayneWatts.com/FannyDeregulation/Higher-Ed-Tuition-Costs.html -you ought to print this out & study, methinks.)
OK, now that I've gotten that off my chest, thank you for taking my call on Healthcare a while back (Hannity's screener was afraid to do what you did: Look me up as 'Gordon in Lakeland, Fla.) --but (with all due respect), you are also wrong to make fun of me being a vegetarian. You know, "Vegetarianism" is actually Conservative. Observe:

1) Vegetarianism is fiscally conservative, since much of what we feed cows turns to bone & gristle -and other non-edible products (think cow patties?)
"...[O]nly a fraction of the energy at one trophic level can be passed on to the next. This fraction varies  from a high of about 35 percent for the most efficient ... to below 0.1 percent...Given the inefficiency of  the energy transfer from one trophic level to the next, it might seem that the earth could support more  humans if we all stopped being omnivorous, and lived on a wholly vegetable diet instead of the  combined animal and vegetable diet..."
-- BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE 5TH EDITION by KEETON & GOULD: (ISBN: 0-393-96223-7) {William T. Keeton; James L. and Carol Gould} Publishers: W. W. Norton & Company, New York and London. pp. 1156-1157
2) Vegetarianism is morally conservative, since the Bible frowns upon mistreatment of animals (killing them for food when you don't have to) “A righteous man regards the life of his animal…” Proverbs 12:10, NKJV
3) Vegetarianism conservative from a 'Personal Responsibility' viewpoint, since you and I both know that vegetarian countries have less cancer, more fertile women, longer life-spans, etc. (See the 'health' link on my blogs -or research it yourself if you doubt.)
4) Vegetarianism is 'practically' conservative, since, IMHO, that Veggie Boca burger I bought at Denny's yesterday morning -and the salad that preceded, tasted great. (OK, you may disagree, but be that as it may, 3 out of 4 is not bad.)

Now, I'm not a "militant vegetarian" as you seemed to infer: I believe in Free Market choice, not Big Gov't forcing us to "eat healthy," but since you yourself got in shape by eating well and exercising a little, you ought to now preach what you practiced so others can be educated. -LOL already,!

PS: I really am a 'Conservative,' as is documented here, where I almost won my case in court to save Terri Schiavo, doing far better than everybody else:

IN CONCLUSION: I would seek your support regarding the three (3) conservative causes outlined herein (e.g., (1) getting Gov't out of ALL education, per free market principles; (2) Veganism/Vegetarianism; and, (3) Pro-Life issues)

PS: I did check with Jerry Hughes of 'Straight Talk' (Accent Network), when I called into *his* show and asked his view on the matter of vouchers: Both he and his (conservative) guest agreed that, ideally, we ought to get ALL government out of education, both elementary ed (vouchers) and higher ed (see my op-ed linked above) -- But Mr. Hughes, who also lives in Lakeland, said that at least vouchers (with some portability) are better than just being taxed and forced to be on one school without any choice. I would agree that vouchers are the "lesser of 2 evils."

What do you think? (Same question to Mr. Hannity & Mr. Beck -and friends.)
