http://www.atr.org/dennis-ross-makes-promise-taxpayers-a3026 It sounds like U.S. Dennis A. Ross (R-Fla.12) lied in his claim to “oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses,” since I have read a report in the New Chief that says that, and I quote: "Ross has also shown himself willing to look at the fiscal policies in force during President Bill Clinton's administration. That period had higher tax rates..." cite: AN EDITORIAL "Ross was right in making a stand" Sunday, August 21, 2011, NewsChief.com http://www.newschief.com/article/20110821/NEWS/108215013/1013/opinion?p=1&tc=pg While even conservatives like me are right to be open to small tax increases in exchange for large spending cuts and/or a balanced budget amendment, what is NOT right is for Ross to lie about it. Integrity is even more important than balancing the budget --moral bankruptcy is even more a problem than fiscal or financial bankruptcy -- and I assure you here: As one who follows the news, The News Chief did NOT misquote or misrepresent Ross' view here. PS: This is not the only thing where Ross has either lied or misrepresented his constituents, but it is the most recent. You may google my name to see proof Ross told a constituent to never email him again --and I don't mean somewone who threatened or harrassed him, but rather a constituent who merely on occasion emailed his legislative concerns --and even selflessly relayed the concerns of others, Democrats in one instance, and who sometimes defended the Congressman when he was right. -- Nevermind -- I'll just give you the link to the paper doing news coverage on this issue -and another issue in which Ross supported obscene tax increases (on the order of 800 to 900 percent) on college students --also included in that link: http://GordonWatts.com / http://GordonWayneWatts.com Gordon Wayne Watts - disgruntled Republican, LAKELAND, Florida, U.S.A.
