Title: "Past. Trina's Bible study: Mean people & toxic relationships (stereo & split screen experiment)" This is a video by Pastor Trina Segna, whose YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXiMXocHk8WAIP2qV5g9vw ("America you need to prepare": Visit her on http://www.MissionForChristMinistries.com ), and the video is from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B-CwJipObo&t=415s (I'm starting it 6:55 in as there was a slight delay). The video is a Bible study on mean people & toxic relationships. (Note: I spliced 2 videos together for split screen & effected stereo by using audio for 2 vids, 1 in each speaker channel, the other vid being from her Facebook simulcast. Flipping one mirror video & editing was a real pain, but it was an experiment.) She is a true Christian: she & her husband fed me dinner after last broadcast I did, fulfilling Matthew 25:31-46, practicing what she preaches. #TrueChristians *Here* are my comments: Trina, you asked in your broadcast whether you should forgive someone if they don't ask -- and cite Luke 17:3-4 which is silent on that issue, implying that if they don't ask you don't forgive. When the Scripture is silent on an issue, it could "go either way," and so you use Scripture to interpret Scripture. Looking, rather, at Mark 11:25-26, we see this: [[""25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.""]] -- Looking, even at the passages before & after this (e.g., the whole chapter of Mark 25), we see this is unconditional. We forgive them, whether or not they ask it. That does not mean you should put up with abuse, and if they offend you -- or if you offend them -- either way, you go to them (if possible, that is), and confront them face-to-face: Matthew 18:15-17 and Matthew 5:23-24 cover both possibilities, whether you offend them or they offend you. Also, even when they didn't know they'd offended Jesus, He still forgave them: [[""Luke 23:34 (KJV) 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.""]] -- Jesus is our highest examples & role model (John 13:15) and our example in suffering too (I Peter 2:21). Now, even when Jesus forgives people, they can still reject it, and end up in HELL!! -- hello?? So, we aren't greater than Jesus, and we can't force someone to accept our offer for reconciliation, but we must FORCEFULLY pursue peace: [[""Hebrews 12:14(KJV) 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: -- Psalm 34:14(KJV) 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.""]] -- And, Jesus' 4-step reconciliation model is in Matthew 18:15-17 and Matthew 5:23-24. Matthew 5:23-24King James Version (KJV) 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Matthew 18:15-17New International Version (NIV) Dealing With Sin in the Church 15 “If your brother or sister[a] sins,[b] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[c] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. Footnotes: [a.]Matthew 18:15 The Greek word for brother or sister (adelphos) refers here to a fellow disciple, whether man or woman; also in verses 21 and 35. [b.]Matthew 18:15 Some manuscripts sins against you [c.]Matthew 18:16 Deut. 19:15 I have BAD people in my life, and I am not saying this is easy... it is NOT. But we must do what we can, and trust God to do what we can't. Link to THIS video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/jWMajY7yBNc Visit her on http://www.MissionForChristMinistries.com
