Dear Congressman Ross & staff: Thank you once again for taking my line-drive hard healthcare question in the TeleTownHall Meeting this past Wednesday. And also, thank you for being patient with my new Twitter friend (Kyler Sean Baldwin: http://www.whitepages.com/name/Kyler-Baldwin/Fl age: 19, from Groveland, FL), who admitted he was rude on social media and got blocked. Good news: he apologized, and apparently emailed you his apology. Anyhow, the healthcare crisis is haunting and plaguing the GOP, but I have a new, "2-pronged strategy," and here it is: Prong-1, of course, is to lower "strength" of coverage, which would (A) lower costs (make it affordable, thus making right-wingers happy) and (B) increase number of people coverage (thus satisfying liberals). Prong-2 comes to us courtesy of no less than The President: "Trump: If GOP health care bill fails, repeal Obamacare now, replace later," By Eugene Scott, CNN, Updated 10:16 AM ET, Fri June 30, 2017: http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/30/politics/trump-healthcare-bill-twitter/index.html Donald J. So, please consider my strategy... First off, the "key" element of my strategy is to use both fists to strike at the same time: In other words, while the GOP tries to "tweak" the "replacement" bill (as hinted in prong-1, above), you and other right-wingers should *simultaneously* introduce a bill to cleanly **REPEAL** ObamaCare. Now, this will be politically-risky, but here is my argument "for" it: 1) If it backfires, you can say you were only following orders of your boss (the voters), and you can drop my name, as the right-wing nut who almost won the Terri Schiavo court case *all by myself* just over ten years ago. This will deflect heat from you, thus protecting and enabling you to act legislatively. 2) You can also name Pres. Trump and Sen. Ben Sasse as people who suggested this (thus taking more heat off you). 3) Here's a bone to throw to the liberals: Clean REPEAL of ObamaCare will remove the "MANDATE" and thus lighten the financial load off voters, states, and others, thus making things like County indigent healthcare more affordable (more money in the pocket of voters). This will buy you *just* enough time to get a replacement bill in the hopper, which brings me to point 4, a recap of part-1 of my strategy: 4) Remember, ANY health care bill, no matter how complex, has only three (3) basic "elements": a) How "affordable" is is? b) How many people does it cover? -- and: c) How "strong" is the coverage? Somehow both the Democrats and the GOP have managed to come up with bills (their bill became law, while ours hasn't yet), that are VERY unaffordable (ours is slightly better, but still breaks the banks, drawing the ire of Rand Paul and others), and also doesn't cover many people (ObamaCare did NOT cover me, and I have even less faith that any GOP replacement would). Which brings me back to the "place of origins": Polk County's indigent care not only is affordable (the 1/2-cent sales tax is not odious or burdensome), but also covers LOADS of people (anyone making less than $990.oo/month: "The income must not exceed $11,880 for a family of 1, $16,020 for a family of 2, etc...." and see http://gordonwaynewatts.com/2017-HealthCarePOINTS.html or http://gordonwatts.com/2017-HealthCarePOINTS.html for links to verify). How does POLK care accomplish this? Well, it covers LESS (read: smaller government), like, it doesn't cover prescriptions, and a few other things. But, it somehow covered both my cataract surgery, regular checkups, and offered an in-depth heart exam (which I declined). So, the current move afoot where some lawmakers are seeking to reduce the "strength" of coverage is the tool that GOD ALMIGHTY has placed in your hand to make the ACA-replacement both affordable and able to cover loads and loads of people. As Michael Jordan might say: "Just Do It!" KEY CONCEPT: You can (and should) do both strategies at the same time: Both a bill to cleanly REPEAL ObamaCare as well as the "tweaks" I suggest above, to use POLK CARE as a model or pattern. PS: Please thank Pres. Trump for his idea, and please (on a different subject) remember that bankruptcy for college loans is the "economic" second amendment, and please speak to Pres. Trump about this AND about your prior promises to get tax dollars *OUT* of making or guaranteeing college loans. As he's a fiscal conservative who has voiced support for this, I think he'll be supportive of the latter, and regarding bankruptcy, he's filed for it like four (4) times (corporately, tho not personally). If you can do all this (or even try) you deserve a medal). Tell me what kind of meal you'd like, ok? (y) Gordon Wayne Watts, constituent (and technically your boss - along with other constituents)
