Dear Dennis: I have a little more feedback to help Make America Great Again (i.e., stuff you might find useful when working with the Trump/Pence transition team). After hearing Pres-elect Trump's plans on healthcare (to repeal & replace the ACA aka ObamaCare), I find a lot of good ideas, but see (some more!) *glaring* omissions that I am, quite frankly, surprised that no one else has seen. (And, seeing Mr. Trump's chief omissions & slip-ups are financial in nature, HigherEd & now HealthCare, I'm really, really surprised, since finances are his main forte, strength, talent, & claim to fame!! But - since he, and you, are financial geniuses, I have hopes that "y'all" will understand my constructive criticism & cool new ideas. Sorry for the slang, 'y'all': English has no formal 2nd person plural for 'you' like Spanish LOL.) GOOD: Ok, Mr. Trump & friends are ((#1)) on the right track to advocate competition "across state lines," to let Free Market forces of competition drive down prices; and ((#2)) he's also correct to demand that America let vets see private doctors or the VA under such a HealthCare plan, sort of like we do for disability & medicare (don't we?), since he's right to assert that this is not privatization. [[Plus, ((#3)) I remind you that he & other conservatives are certainly right to assert that ObamaCare deductibles are so high that it's useless, but I include this to remind y'all to get rid of those evil deductibles!! Poor people can't handle them, hello??]] BAD: Here's my main point: ((#4)) You, as a Polk County, Fla., resident, surely recall that voters recently renewed the 1/2-cent sales tax that funds the Indigent Health Care for poor people (like me), and I assure you, Dennis, it works, and works well. My point? You and Mr. Trump need to heed my words and destroy ObamaCare before it destroys us - and becomes a trillion-ton weight. POLK's indigent plan is **AFFORDABLE** -- but the "Affordable" Health Care Act (ACA) is anything **but** affordable. "Less is More." - My plan will save the nation once again from crashing the dollar, but scaling **down** that which is Sine Qua Non necessary, healthcare, in this case. (-: I made this bold, braggadocio claim regarding my HigherEd reforms, remember? If you disbelieve me, don't do it, and watch the dollar crash, he heh! OK, on 2nd thought... don't. :-) CONCLUSION: You won't need ancillary things like Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or even the tax deductions (a classic Republican solution looking for a problem!) for said HealthCare Premiums if, instead of "premiums," you simply funded this by an income tax or, hey, even a consumption (sales) tax like we do it here in POLK. -- It works in POLK COUNTY, so why not expand it nationwide?
