(Note to self: Apparently sent to Congressman Dennis Ross via web-email, on or before the time-stamp on this text file, which is 04/22/2015, 01:36am. ~~Gordon Wayne Watts) Subject: "Time-Sensitive: Constitutional rights of 1st Amendment Redress to access of the courts" As you recall, I have a case in court (14-8744 in the US Supreme Court), and I asked you to speak to the news media to use the 'Free Press Doctrine' to ... well... here's the definition: "Free press doctrine lionized the press as the prime defender of public liberty in its role as a bulwark against governmental tyranny. Open press doctrine, on the other hand, stressed the individual right of every man to air his sentiments for all to consider, regardless of his political perspective or the consequences for the people's liberty." http://www.LawCourts.org/LPBR/reviews/martinrowt.htm ...to protect me against liberal activist courts and the requisite governmental tyranny. However, when I spoke with one of your aides, a lawyer named Johnnie, she said that Ethics rules prohibited you from speaking to the news media about individual persons' cases. -- OK, I will agree there, but this is not "my" case -- here's an example to illustrate: Members of Congress have very frequently spoken out (for or against) the 'gay marriage' cases in the high court, and, my request of the court is to allow me to participate --just like those rich enough to be able to hire a lawyer. (I can not afford to hire a lawyer to file for me, as Rule 37.1 requires.) This is an unjust rule, as it denies me Due Process based on my poverty, and also implicates Equal Protection: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2015/03/prweb12608018.htm See also the 'Lady Justice' twins at: http://GordonWatts.com or: http://GordonWayneWatts.com and: note the twin on the right: Case documents are underneath her. All I ask is for a fair day in court - not any special treatment. Here is how that may be achieved: Conclusion: I am not asking you to speak on a case involving my own dispute, but, rather, seeing as Members of Congress *regularly* speak out on the 'Gay Marriage' cases that come before it, involving *other* people, I ask you to, likewise, speak out about MY involvement. TIME IS SHORT: "DISTRIBUTED for Conference of April 24, 2015." -- see e.g., http://www.supremecourt.gov/Search.aspx?FileName=/docketfiles/14-8744.htm Please stir up the press about this - All you members of Congress speak about *lesser* important matters in the courts all the time - the gay marriage cases being but one example. (This is of lesser importance than my involvement because these rich people got formal recognition for their Amici Curiae.) Therefore, please speedily speak to the press about me as well - here are key links: http://www.SupremeCourt.gov/Search.aspx?FileName=/docketfiles/14-8744.htm http://GordonWatts.com/ http://GordonWayneWatts.com/ Controversial rule challenged: http://www.PrWeb.com/releases/2015/03/prweb12608018.htm Novel compromise pitched: http://www.PrWeb.com/releases/2015/03/prweb12608035.htm PS: See also http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/12/prweb12361433.htm which shows the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeal let me file Amici pro se; why won't the US Supreme Court do likewise!?!? Please stir up the press about this - All you members of Congress speak about *lesser* important matters in the courts all the time - the gay marriage cases being but one example: Time is short... Answer: Q: "How can we improve?" A: Speak to the press, as you do on other issues. You are capable, and I don't ask you to do what I'm already doing. It's not easy, I admit, but not impossible. This, I think, is the best way to defend Biblical marriage and speak out about unjust court rules, such as the "pro se" prohibition for Amicus briefs. We must win this fight. Please try again.
